The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #32 – Spirituality, Summer Films and the Quaker
It’s interesting that one of the more difficult topics Ginny Tonic and Charlie have ever covered on the show would be the question of spirituality. This week, they both discuss a side of their life that hasn’t been public and are brutally honest about their quest to a broader understanding of a side of life that is tough to explain. From there, we share movie reviews of both Abraham Lincoln and the Amazing Spider-Man films then settle into a Bottoms Up segment, music and the close. This week we promise a very interesting episode.

The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #31 – Colorado Considerations, The Zombie Apocalypse and Habits
In this week’s episode, we’re taking a bit more serious tone as we discuss the Colorado shooting. Charlie comes from the world of comics, so we thought this was a topic we shouldn’t shy away from as we consider it from a couple angles. Have no fear though, we eventually make it on to a listener suggested topic as we detail how we would survive (or fail) a zombie apocalypse. Along the way we cover the Midsummer Masquerade, Ford Theatre Reunion, MOTR and Japps. There’s also a drunk drink segment recorded at a bar called Habits. It’s a full show this week.

The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #30 – Comic Con, Movie Awards and the Prairie Fire
This week Ginny and Charlie report back from the red carpet as they attend the 48 Hour Film Project Awards here in Cincinnati. From there, the discussion turns to San Diego Comic Con as Charlie gives his impressions of the show and where he sees it fitting into the current state of comic culture. He’s back to his roots in this discussion. For the close we present what may be one of the best drink segments in the history of the Charlie Tonic Hour. Maybe? Well, at the very least it comes with a really fun story and an edge of your seat taste test moment. From there we dip back to the 70′s for a musical recommendation you’ll have to hear to believe then close out the show.

The 48 Hour Film Project Awards Show
It was red carpet night for Charlie and Ginny Tonic recently. The Cincinnati 48 Hour Film Project held their awards show last night at the 20th Century Fox Theater in Oakley. This was the 10th year of Cincinnati’s participation in this international filmmaking competition and from what I saw, the quality of the films have continued to increase every year.
If you are unfamiliar with the competition, it is a deceptively simple concept. Each team is given 48 hours to make a complete short film from start to finish. To ensure that teams are playing fairly, at the start of the 48 hours each team is given a line of dialogue, character, and prop that must appear in the film. This year’s character was a magician named Tom Rocco so several of the films featured a strong magic theme.

The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #29 - Clothing Optional, Apps and Chocolate Sweetness
We’re back in the Charlie Tonic studios this week as we share a bit of advice on what you could wear (or not wear) to a masquerade. We go from thrifting to riffing to avoiding the heat in three easy steps. From there, we return with our second segment of app recommendations. It’s news, tools and games as Ginny and Charlie both share three apps they love. How does this turn into a chat centered on sex? You’ll have to listen and learn. In the end we close with some chocolate wine, a spot of obscure music and a little innuendo.

The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #28 - Derby City, Smuggling Spirits and Mongolian Vodka
It’s a slightly different Charlie Tonic Hour this week filled with big announcements, live-without-edits recordings, drunken moments, 70+ mph action and alcohol in unexpected places. All that and more as we “road show” Derby City, take a suggestion from the listeners for a show topic and bring you into a drinking circle live from happy hour. Classic show in the making? You decide.

The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #27 - Kilts and a Fluffer
This week there’s a bit of parental discretion advised as Ginny Tonic and Charlie walk you through the week that was, sum up all the unexpected parties and visit a really outstanding bourbon bar. From there these two begin a discussion of kilts and end in a broader discussion of male sexuality. Charlie is put on the spot and answers honestly. Ginny also shares a couple interesting things that get her excited. After that Calamity Dawn stops off and makes a great Fluffer then we bring it home with a bit of music.

The Charlie Tonic Hour Episode #26 - Bikinis, Avatars and a Good Rum
We’re back from Florida and back behind the microphone filling the airwaves with conversation, opinions and the occasional innuendo. This week, Ginny Tonic shares her thoughts on buying a bikini and challenging yourself, she and Charlie chat about the first two episodes of the new Avatar animated series and sample a very interesting (and cheap) rum. Along the way there are stories from Florida, a bit of unexpected music and more as we settle back into life, once again, in Cincinnati.
